Mary Nichter Counseling Scholarship

Mary S. Nichter, Ph.D., Professor of Counselor Education, and first Chair pf the Department of Counselor Education at Sam Houston State University. Dr. Nichter is and has been a mother, wife, grandmother, pre-school and kindergarten teacher, school counselor, marriage and family therapist, teacher and program coordinator at both San Jacinto and Blinn Colleges, SHSU faculty member for 19 years (since 1999), counselor educator, and coordinator or chair of the Counselor Education programs at SHSU for 14 years. This scholarship is being established in honor of Dr. Mary S. Nichter.
